Which coming from an analog world will have to include some kind of added 2nd or 3rd frequency dependent harmonic distortion, to simulate the musically "bigger" sound as a result of this added harmonic content. I know that a lot of software eq's are modeled on hardware units to simulate the way they "behave" when in use. Oh, and I'd choose the 20$ DDMF EQ's over the Sonnox anytime! If people still consider some "classics" (like the sonnox or ren EQ / Q10 by waves) as the best, just because they cost much more, than their way better/modern contenders, then they're just biased and still believe "more expensive IS always better". (LOL, I always thought that "pixely" thing was do to bad screenshots or so. The interface was so small and "pixely" tutt I once saw the Sonnox on a pals computer and was almost shocked how crappy it looked in real (only saw pics of it before). Moving the bands and reseting them (AFAIR) were not as nice as Equality, even if it has some features that the DMG doesn't (selectable M or S or L/R per band, which is really awesome).Įquality is the most intuitive EQ IMO with a great design and good looking graph and very usefull analyzer. I tried the Pro Q and really wanted to like it (I love the Interface ) but for some reason it was not as good as Equality regarding "handling". Another Equality lover here! I wonder about this smearing thing aswell (?)
